Catholics live in an abusive family, the time to stand up to the abusers is long past - wake up!

Catholics today are living in dysfunctional household. We have a father who is abusive. In his heart, he is an unhappy man because he resents the life he has had. He lashes out at his children, he calls them names and insults them, he derides their offerings of love and affection to him, he uses vulgar descriptions and epithets. His love for our mother is superficial, he never really loved her, he uses her and abuses her and we are never, ever to talk about it. Some of our brothers and sisters think we must keep quiet and never, ever mention that father is an evil man. Some of our uncles have sexually abused us, they have done awful things to us, degrading, vulgar things. Many of our brothers and sisters have left home because of it and have lived lives of hatred, sexual depravity and substance abuse. Yet, our father seems to care more about those who did this to us then we ourselves.

"Something profoundly worrying about criticisms on the signatories of the Correction specifically for speaking out about problems which every informed Catholic already knows about, is the mindset it reveals, one focused not on the truth, but on appearances. It is strongly reminiscent of the mindset at work in abusive families, where children are taught to pretend things are all right, when they are not: certain topics are not to be broached, certain facts are not to be referred to. This attitude can be enforced not by the abusive parent directly, but by other family members who are trying to keep up appearances and hold the family together. It is nevertheless profoundly unhealthy, and indeed is linked to psychological disorders in the children." Dr. Joseph Shaw, Oxford

It is time to decide where you stand and how much abuse you are going to continue to take.

This is an excellent interview with Dr. Shaw drawing our attention to those persons who declare an interest in the Truth but would rather hide it under a mound of clay rather than expose it to the light of day. These ‘adherents’ to the True Faith have little real knowledge of it & cannot face the world when our leaders obdurately uphold evil (Sodomy in the priesthood/religious, anxiously trying to finds ways around Ten Commandments to meet LGBTQI & divorced/remarried without annulment requirements, no opposition from prelature to SSA-promoting priests/Bishops, no emphatic refusal to their adopting children, no consistent & loud objection to Abortion & Euthanasia or ongoing support of those who do put their lives on line for the end to such practices, etc.).

Dr. Shaw rightly points out it is like we are living in a very dysfunctional family where no-one dare speak of the evil that abounds in case Father gets to know of it & takes vengeance on his children. We cannot allow ourselves to become mute on these issues but continuously speak of them until someone in the Vatican wakes up to the realization that these topics are won’t be going away until they are absolutely resolved in accordance with Divine Law

It is the same everywhere, I live in London and it seems "Catholic" schools are embracing the "Transgender Ideology" without ANY Bishop, Teacher or even laity standing up to it

These schools cannot call themselves "Catholic" any longer

Hi Vox Cantoris, really like your blog. Do you know

Poland’s bishops have urged the nation’s Catholics to join a massive rosary prayer crusade along the country’s 2,000-mile border to pray for the salvation of their country.

Organizers say they expect up to a million people to participate in the “Rosary on the Borders” event on October 7, the anniversary of the Battle of Lepanto, where “the Christian fleet overcame the Muslim armada, saving Europe from Islamization.”

Copy and past if link does not work

Can you do a blog on this and ask your viewers to join them on that day, uniting their Rosaries for this intention.

At last something positive from the church

The worst thing is to have a dysfunctional father and to keep it a secret. Keeping secrets about daddy’s behavior subjects the family to terrible pain and keeps daddy from experiencing public shame. Never underestimate the power of shame. In Bergoglio’s case, shaming is a terrible thing to waste. He needs a public pillory like the correction. Daddy’s secret must be spoken loud and clear and daddy must be forced to listen. No more secrets.

But this father is only telling us that his eyes were opened and he saw for all of us that HIS Father in Heaven has been abusive, unmerciful, pharisaic, uneducated and rigid.
Yes, he, the first truly humble, illuminated, merciful and just sometimes loses patience with us, when we refuse to follow him "forward", as far from the original abuser as possible, never looking back to the dark ages. It is all for our (collective) good.

This is an extremely helpful post - and clever in its' straightforwardness.

So much 'formal' sounding nonsense in the church is actually abusive -
like some ecclesiastical titles - 'Most Rev.' 'Very Rev.' 'Monsignor' which means 'My Lord' etc. I am in favor of titles, formality and tradition but it must be toned down and the People of God should be given titles as well like 'Disciple' and 'Elder''Your Discipleship'.

Another abusive thing is the word 'Magisterium' ... it is just a word - and should never be applied to non-infallible sentences - which happens all the time...

Spiritual direction is also abusive - and moronic homilies exploiting an audience captive by conscience- if homilies were after Holy Communion, nobody would stay....

Then there is the casual hiding of the third secret of Fatima.... none of the People's business the popes arrogantly seem to think...

and on and on.....

Consecration of Russia, anyone?

Plan your battle ahead and make sure you can win. (Luke 14:31)

Otherwise, cover your father's nakedness just as Noah's sons, Shem and Japheth, did.

Or you'll end up like David's son Absalom.
